SECOND FLUSH 2006 STOCK CLEARANCE:
|
THURBO (CH)
SPL [CHINA SPECIAL] - 2006 |
Owned by the
Goodricke Group of Companies, Thurbo
Tea Garden is known for its quality
production of Darjeeling Teas. The
name of the garden owes its origin
to a historic event when the British
set up their camp at the estate to
invade Nepal. The word 'Camp' is referred
to as "Tombu" in Nepali
language and this particular Nepalese
word may have developed into 'Thurbo'
later.
A 'value for money' second flush tea
from Thurbo. Its amazing to know why
the tea garden sold us the tea for
such a low price. Maybe due to their
mass production which made them overlook
this particular tea. Thurbo produces
very good clonal teas, particularly
the famous one is 'Tippy Clonal',
but this second flush tea being a
china grade is greatly under-rated
according to its beautiful character
both as a leaf and in the cup.
Full bodied with excellent muscatel
notes encircle it's character. Has
a marvelous fruity and nutty aftertaste.
Your best bet if you are looking for
a quality tea at a fair budget. |

After Mr. Jha joined in as the Superintendent

Sungma got a facelift through the
production of new range of excellent

are seeking rather than just concentrating
on quantity. At Jayshree we work as
a team; the Managers and the laborers
work hand in hand in order to bridge
the gap and to walk towards a particular
goal i.e. production of quality Darjeeling
teas."

MARGARET'S HOPE
FTGFOP1 (CH) (SPECIAL) |
Established in
1864, Margaret's Hope Tea Garden
bears this unusual name given by the
owner, Mr. Cruikshank in memory of
his beloved daughter, Margaret. She
was very much enchanted by the tea
garden and promised to return before
sailing for England. Unfortunately
she died of a tropical disease leaving
the promise unfulfilled. Her father
christened the garden as 'Margaret's
Hope' in her memory. The garden undoubtedly
is truly enchanting as perceived by
Margaret with beautiful undulating
hilly slopes carpeted with tea bushes.
A smooth full bodied tea that impart
a silvery and glimmering character
to the liquor with a slight 'coppery
glow' appearance. An exquisite quality
and aromatic tea leaves giving excellent
liquor with floral and honey undertones.
A darling tea which can be shared
among friends and family - can be
a delight for everyone's palate. Can
add milk, but not recommended. |

THURBO OOLONG (FTGFOP1) |
Thurbo Tea Garden
has always stood by its standard production
of speciality teas and this is a rare
one. It has always produced quality
First Flush, Second Flush and Autumn
Darjeeling teas and there is no doubt
about it. This oolong is rare and
available in very limited quantity.
Have you heard of Thurbo Oolong tea
ever? Well here you are, savour the
rare!
An exceptional grade which is rarely
produced by the garden - we got our
hands on some of it. Although the
garden didn't want to sell because
of the new style for Darjeeling tea,
we requested and requested and finally
succeeded. The dry leaf is full size
like the white tea. The dry leaf attributes
to lemony notes mixed with camellia
fragrance. As soon as the liqor is
sipped, it lends a very sweet character.
The other taste the liqor imparts
is slightly orangy. Has got a mild
astringent cup. If you have been having
other oolongs, this one will definitely
create a class of its own. Try and
find the difference yourself. |
