About Arya Tea FTGFOP1 Classic

An affordable classic graded Autumnal clonal Darjeeling tea from Arya Tea Estate. With the effect of having some green leaves, it lends some characteristics which is somewhat First Flush like, but definitely Autumn as it is. In Autumn, though the tea processing is complex and depends highly on how a tea maker makes his tea with a targeted output in mind, green leaves during the Autumn flush reasons to increase the flavor of tea.

Dry Arya Tea Leaves

The overall appearance of Arya tea leaves tend towards more of being chocolate brown with a complex color mixture of light brown, dark brown, copper and some greens. It has an intriguing coffee like, chocolaty aroma that is accompanied by certain sweetness. It is fruity like the smell of a plum and hints of muscatel aroma can be found.

Infusion or Wet Arya Tea leaves

The well rolled and twisted dry tea leaves reveals its magic by beautifully unfolding into a copper infusion with a blend of dark olive green leaves cuddled up in-between. It has a fresh sweet and minty nose which is also highly fruity like the plum. This Arya Tea comes accompanied with a slight fruity nose which is considered a Second Flush character.

Cup or Liquor characteristics

Arya Tea has an overall lovely cup that is copper in color which seems stuck to a reddish hue. It is full bodied with very little astringency and as you spread the liqor in your mouth, it gives you a warm buttery spread effect. Simultaneously if you are sipping and inhaling the aroma (that’s how tea tasting is done), you will get a sweet aroma which seems somewhat like hard burnt sugar and caramellic. The cup’s taste impart a buttery taste which is at the same time sweet and caramellic. It has a beautiful fruity and nutty taste which bears resemblance to almonds.

Brewing Tips

Water

Use plain filtered or spring water abundance in oxygen. Do not re-use already boiled water for the taste may appear flat.

Temperature

It can be from 203-212 Degree F. Tea leaves are smaller than the clonal varieties, but gives stronger brews. If your water is too hot, let it cool down for a while.

Quantity of Tea leaves

Standard procedure says 2.5 grams per 100 ml of water, but may not be correct as it is complex due to different cultivars, leaf sizes and make. For this it is recommended you use around one teaspoonful per mug of tea.

Steeping Time

Steeping time for this tea is 3-4 minutes, not more than this because it tends to get bitter, but some people like the bitterness it has which is so unique to Darjeeling China classic variety teas. If so you can experiment steeping a bit longer. Longer the steeping time, bitter is the tea.
